My name is Jack and I am from England. In 2018 I rented a property in Playa Flamenca. The neighbourhood really appealed to me. Many international people, not too quiet, not too busy and a nice big shopping centre nearby. There is also a delicious Chinese takeaway in the area.
As the climate in the UK is cool and the weather can change quickly, even in summer, many people dream of owning a home in Spain. The sun does us good and, in addition, the Costa Blanca is relatively cheap for us. Going out for food or drink is much more expensive in the UK than it is in Spain.
In Spain I noticed that the apartment next to me was for sale. The ‘for sale’ sign was from Ibérica-Estates. At first I did not think much of it, but the longer I stayed in my rental home, the more often I thought about the apartment next door. I wondered if the inside was identical to my rental home.
At one point I called Ibérica-Estates. I was kindly assisted in English and I immediately received a straightforward answer to my questions about the apartment. I was actually offered a viewing right away without obligation. I said yes and the next day Emiel showed up at my door to introduce himself.
Emiel showed me around the property and gave me an information booklet with details of the apartment. The interior of the apartment looked reasonable. I noticed that it would need painting and most of the furniture would have to be replaced.
Things actually moved pretty fast from there. I had become very enthusiastic and saw this as an opportunity to make my dream come true. Back in the UK, I discussed the potential purchase with a few people, but I actually made the decision quite quickly. I made a deposit to Ibérica-Estates’ bank account in order for them to take the property off the market. I just didn't want to miss out on this opportunity.
I actually had faith in the good relationship with Ibérica-Estates from the start. I never questioned Emiel's professionalism. From the first contact, he was very involved in the process and explained and organised all the steps for me. The feeling was just right from the start.
It took about 2 months before I got the keys to the apartment. In the end, that process went so smoothly that I didn't even have to go to the notary. The Ibérica-Estates lawyer arranged that process for us and I collected the keys from Emiel. It’s now been over a year and I fully enjoy my holiday home in Spain.

Two years ago, we were looking for a villa in Spain. At the Manchester exhibition we met Emiel at the Ibérica-Estates stand. We talked with him for a while and had a nice conversation, but we found it a bit noisy. Since it was also very busy, we agreed to get in touch again after the expo.
Emiel called us a few days later and we had a long telephone conversation. Emiel told us in detail about the purchasing process in Spain. About a month after our first contact at the fair, we still had a good feeling and we decided to make a trip to Spain to look at some homes.
In Spain, we visited many villas and beautiful beaches and areas over just a few days, though we preferred the Costa Blanca South region. In the evening, we sat in our hotel and made a list of the pros and cons of each villa. After carefully considering our housing needs and the extensive knowledge of the area, we ended up in Orihuela Costa and we’re incredibly happy with our new villa near the Villamartin golf course.
During construction, we were kept well informed with a new update of photos every month. If we had any questions, we could always turn to Ibérica-Estates. They arranged everything. It was a blessing that we were able to settle all contracts and regulatory documents in English.
We’ve gone through the process with full confidence and can now enjoy our new home, the sun, the sea, the nice walks and the pleasant Spanish life in the bars and restaurants for many years to come. Now we just have to brush up on the Spanish language. Obviously Ibérica-Estates can’t do this for us, we’ll do that ourselves, but we’ll do it at the language school they recommended us!
